Today I got a chance to photograph some wild ducks, geese, and even an American Coot. I couldn't wait to see my pictures to see if the ducks or the geese turned out better. This male Mallard was the winner. The male Mallard is easily identified with its iridesent green head, bright yellow bill, and curled short central black tail feathers. He looks like he is standing on the water, but he was actually standing on a submerged log. It was late in the day when I took this and there were alot of shadows. I plan on going back on a sunny day to see what else I can find.
@chard Much easier than the wild birds I've been trying to capture. I get alot of pictures of empty branches. LOL @tsburns2001 Thank you very much Tammi! :0)
