The name of this butterfly is Variegated Fritillary. I think I'll just call it Frilly! :0)
The morning started with rain, then the sun came out and it got really windy. I saw a Black Swallowtail and I got four blurry shots of it. The wind was just blowing too much!
Thanks so very much for viewing and commenting on my pics!!! :0)
@girlie Thank you Robin! I'm finding them in the the fenceline between my field and the neighbors. I've actually been going around to his side. I won't cross the ditch. It's too thick and that's where the green snake lives! LOL! There are thistles and Black-eyed Susans that the insects love. :0)
As to your question, I live in Ooltewah, Tn just outside Chattanooga. I'd never heard of Wartrace until last year when a friend said it was a neat place to visit. We took a trip over there in the fall and it is an interesting place. We took a lot of pictures.
I can imagine Frilly saying, "Oh, I'll just sit myself down on this yellow perfect pillow and rest a couple of seconds!" I like the color combination and the full frilly back.
and very nice that you got sunshine,, just crappy gray skies here..
