Layers

I first saw one of these cool bumble bees a couple of weeks ago. I really like their hairy layers. They're hard to capture, because they work really fast. I found them in the same area each time, but they like to stay close to the woods and I don't. There are too many unknowns in the woods for me this time of the year! :0)

My mom found the walkingstick insect for me yesterday. It was on her roses. I put it back on the roses, after I took pics. When I got home, I read they eat roses. I called and told my mom. She sent me a text this morning saying she didn't get it off quick enough. It had a nice meal from her roses. I think it's residing in the pasture now. LOL!

Thank you for your views, comments, and faves!!!! :0)
Love all the fuzz, Carolyn. And very funny about the walking stick insect, although I'm sorry about the roses!

Did you use the flash Carolyn? It can help with quick moving fellas like this? And I would be happy to feed a Stick insect some roses!

@bobfoto I don't use my flash outside. I'll have to give it a try. My mom really loves her flowers. I'm glad she let it stay around long enough for me to get pics. :0)

@cjwhite - I love my flowers too, but I dig having cool bugs in the garden! I used my inbuilt flash almost all the time on my macros, unless the subject is in bright sunlight and I have something solid (like a table) to rest my camera and keep it as still as possible.

Awesome capture, Carolyn. they're so hairy!!! Too bad about the roses. I'm glad you mentioned american copper on the butterfly pic. I'd just spend an unsuccessful 20 minutes trying track that name down! lol thanks for that!
