Question Mark

When the Question Mark butterfly is closed, you can see a silvery question mark on its hindwings. I never got a decent shot of a closed one last year. I'm hoping for better luck this go around.

Thank you your comments on yesterday's fun pic!!! :0)
Beautiful shot. I tend to only see Monarchs and those white guys flying around my neck of the woods so I'm impressed with your biobutterflydiversity.

@joelmalley Thank you Joel! This is the only one I saw today that wasn't white. It's turned really cold here the past few days. We may have frost tonight.

i'd love to see how this butterfly got its name! I have no doubt that your tenacity and dedication to hunt down butterflies will result in a 'wings closed' shot of this guy sometime in the year :)

Your focus and POV are perfect for what is always a difficult subject. Love it.
