I passed my old home today and couldn't resist this photo of the apple tree in the orchard( which only a few trees are now remaining). It was laden down with these gorgeous red apples. I only hope someone picks them and makes a few pies!!
It made me quite nostalgic, the tree was one my dad planted for me over 60 years ago along with the rest of the orchard because I had to be dieted from an early age, he was told fruit would be good for me:)....so as usual being a gardener he took it to heart.
We used to play in a tent under this tree and it always gave us sweet apples.
Mam and dad are no longer with us but the memories linger on......
