The Tremenos is a 2.7 million public art installation consisting of two elliptical rings and wires, the result stands on the banks of the river Tees near Middlesbrough's Transporter bridge. It's was created by Anish Kapoorand structural designer Cecil Balmond.
I took this photo today late in the afternoon when the light had almost gone, I still thought the half light enhanced the shot rather than take anything away. The day has been grey cold[4c] with very bad light.
Much better on black
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Thank you for all your comments and favs all are much appreciated.
Happy New Year Margaret. Great shot of this installation. Does irk me slightly that it cost so much when there is so much need in this country. My son goes to a special needs secondary school whose funding gets cut year on year. Rant over - you have captured it well against the twilight.
@rhodie I know what you mean and as Middlesbrough is not a pretty place and some areas are in great need of renovating makes you wonder why they spend money like this instead of putting it to better use!
I think maybe the subdued light allows a difference in tonal values, that you may not have got in a brighter light, between the installation and bridge, so you're getting more definition. Not sure, just a theory.
I do like the contrast between the shapes of the Tremenos and the structure of the bridge.
