Australian National Memorial - Villers Bretonneux

we are now in France. After visiting two family graves at Steenwerek and Longueval we visited the Australian Nation Memorial. On 24th April 1918 some 12,000 young Australians lost their lives in battle at Villers-Bretonneux There is a wall with the names of 11,000 missing in action and the graves of over 700 Australians plus other soldiers of the British Empire. It is a beautifully tended memorial but extremely moving.
Lovely compilation of shots.

What a fabulous collage of such a sombre scene. You have captured it so beautifully.

Lovely images in your college. Especially like the one at the upper left.

Thanks for presenting these in a college — that gave us the chance to see more of your pictures! Sad, the loss of life a war causes. If only leaders didn't decide to settle differences by donating the lives of their nations' young people for the cause.
