signs of a healthy creek

during the last heavy rain the creek was full of froth and bubble but also lots of frogspawn (the black spots). From the thousands of eggs a frog lays only 5 or 6 will survive to be adult frogs. The rest are eaten or dried up.

I am always fascinated by frog spawn, it never loses that amazing thrill of the tadpoles gradually becoming frogs.
