Day at Cley by daffodill

Day at Cley

Today the plan was to start the day at Cley,
which I thought rhymed with day,
but apparently rhymes with sky!
We decided to start the day with coffee,
before exploring the board walk at Cley
As ever, we got diverted and started by exploring the village of cley.
We admired the craftsmanship of the items in the pottery,
then saw the price tags.
Comment to daughter, after doing so
"Stand still honey and don't even breathe!"
followed by a quick exit...
We reached to tearooms
to discover that they were shut!
There was a public footpath, heading in the direction of the windmill
which we had admired on several occasions
on our trips along the coast.
We decided to head off across the marshes
and have a picnic by the sea.
Imagine our joy,
when we discovered the Windmill had a cafe,
which was experiencing far more demand than usual
for their refreshments!
Although it was breezy, the courtyard was a sheltered spot.
We ate lunch on the beach and, as the day got ever hotter
we moved on to Wells, so that my daughter could use her surf board.
As for the board walk - an excuse to return another year...
Beautiful!!! :0)
