Leaves

I like the leaves of my airplane plant. In the middle of Winter, I like to look closely into the leaves and imagine walking through tall, lush vegetation. I found one more good thing about snow today. It was cloudy, but the filtered daylight bounced off the snow highlighting the airplane plant's leaves. I added fill light and highlights during the processing to give this an overexposured or high key look. I did not completely like that look, so I added in some contrast to bring out more of the details in the leaves. This is not quite the way I wanted this to look, but I ran out of time to do any more. With practice, I know I will get better at this kind of black and white processing.
I think this turned out quite cool! I like that you can still see so much detail, and I really love the full-in composition.

Good job! The more you play around with these different styles of processing the better you get at achieving the look you want.

It's all familiarity with the tools and what they do. Before you know it you'll be getting more satisfying results in a fraction of the time! Good job - keep working on it!
