I planted 6 cauliflower plants, 6 cabbage plants, and 6 kale plants in my newly renovated gardening area as part of my backyard full makeover. Only 1 cauliflower plant is producing a head finally--the others look healthy and produce amazing leaves, but this is the only one doing proper growth. The cabbage plants are not growing heads either, but I just cut what I want to eat as they produce beautiful foliage. The kale has been the most reliable, providing plenty of produce!
A friend of mine told me that cauliflower and broccoli (and cabbage) have been hard for her to grow too, so this was a fun learning experience regardless, and I'll try to figure out a way to cook the cauliflower foliage--maybe make crispy leaves in the oven?
For now, pleased to see one do its thing! Maybe another will follow suit?
Yay for getting one to grow! Amazing clarity and focus in your photo of it. I like that you are going to try and use it even if it didn’t come out the way you wanted it to.
It looks very promising, I think. I cook cauliflower leaves in just the same way as cabbage. I have just had a hip relacement and understand that broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and cabbage, all cruciferous vegetables, are good for joint health!
