Tonkatsu by darylo

Tonkatsu

This is one of my daughter's favorite Japanese dishes. It's a fried Pork cutlets with a special sauce served with shaved cabbage and lemon juice. Not a dish I'd prepare often, but it is spectacularly crunchy and tasty (chicken would do nicely too for those who don't like pork).

The sauce is homemade because I must have thrown out our bottled version. It was just OK. Cabbage is great to cut the heaviness of the dish.

Next up is Bulgogi (Korean beef) tonight.
Always enjoy your food shots, and Bulgogi is a fav of my family, but my recepie that involves grated pear whilst delicious is a pain in the you know what to clean up my skillet.

I knew it was yours as soon as I saw the first hint of food. You have such an amazing way of presenting food both as the meal and as part of your photographs. This one is definitely food magazine worthy!

@ukandie1 I used an apple instead of a pear since I didn't have one, and because I am lazy, I just put all the ingredients for the marinade in the food processor til it's very finely grated and then mix it with the meat.

@grammyn You are always too kind with the praise. I think a food magazine would not like a Samsung 6 shot ;)
