When it All Gets Real

Spending the night at Scottish Rite tonight with Aidan who ended up with cellulitis on her foot. Three super strong antibiotics are coursing through her veins. This tray was the start of the fears we both tried to keep at bay. I just knew when I took her to the ER, she would be kept once I told them the symptoms came on soon after she "soaked" in a creek after a long run at her cross country running camp in the Asheville area in NC.

The nurse tech just came by to take vitals. She's looking good.

I can't sleep. Natch. Partially because the blinds aren't working and there is a building light right outside my window.

Next visit by Dr. will be in 1.5 hours.
it is sad. I wish you a quick recovery

Cellulitis. Ugh. I'm sorry. Dan spent 4 days in the hospital recently with that and now has permanent nerve damage. Sounds like you caught it early. Wishing a speedy recovery.

Yikes. Take care of your family, Daryl. Scary results from such a reasonable activity.

@danette so sorry to hear. This stuff is NO JOKE and scary. We are likely to be in the hospital til Tuesday (they keep adding a day). I have a feelng we will be broke soon. :( But the first signs of antibiotics working was today.

@darylo They gave Dan 4x as much medication as what they began with. Took 3 days before his swelling started going down. It is terribly scary but it seems like you are under control. They just need to make sure it's better. Prayers for your family.

Hoping that she's doing better now. I have never heard of this kind of infection.

Oh no, that's not good to hear. I wish you strength. I thought cellulitis was something women had on their (mostly) upper legs. Hang on!
