Edy Hartawan, the best tour guide in Bali! by darylo

Edy Hartawan, the best tour guide in Bali!

Here is my wonderful friend Edy Hartawan. He provided my friend and me 8 days of tours, drove through a myriad of motorcycles, introduced me to all kinds of lifetime "firsts," and gave me a glimpse into the true spirit of Balinese Hinduism. I went snorkeling, visited water parks, toured royal palaces, sipped Kopi Lowak, ate on a terrace overlooking an active volcano, hiked through rice terraces, experienced traditional dances and ceremonies, the list goes on and on. I enjoyed his company so much. I recommend him very highly as a personal guide if you go to Bali for any reason. Not only is he a wonderful person, he pays very close attention to making your time enjoyable, and he protects your belongings--as photographers know, keeping gear safe is really important. Edy made it so easy for me to take "all the gear" but not have to have it with me "all the time!" He also provided us personal sarongs for temples where that attire was required. All of the tour was covered from personal transportation, to temple fees, to arranging the time schedule.

His company's website is here in the event you can make it to Bali: http://balilocaltourguide.com/

What was so wonderful about going around Bali with a guide was being able to hear the stories of the rich history and the culture. And the food! Edy knew where to take us, and best of all, he showed us where authentic sights/restaurants/events were. We loved having Edy with us all week. I'm so fortunate to have met him, and we still keep in touch via email. :)

He looks very personable and sweet. How is your recovery going?

@amandal @barneyone Thanks. he was a gem. I am progressing slowly. while the scar is healing, and I have appendages gone, the area has developed a rash and sleeping is not very easy to do. So I'm just tired. But healing. :)
