My 2nd day in Japan was spent going from Ebisu (where I was staying) to the fish market, to Asakusa Temple, and then really just roaming around to sight see. I had hoped to see the Imperial Palace and Gardens, but I arrived just as it was closing (note to traveling self--always research ahead of time days and times for all places you want to visit!). I also spent a good part of the day looking for a place I knew Taffy and Junko visited (an architectural gold mine for photography), but I could only recall that the place was somewhere near Tokyo Station (which I did find on my long walk around the city after Asakusa).
The best way to get around the city was by train! Everything was very efficient. I used my Japan Rail pass for a lot of my trains actually (if anyone is traveling to Japan, I HIGHLY recommend this pass).
I have to admit that I have always wanted a good "waiting for the train" photo and thought I would try to channel something Northy would do with Black and White, but this fails pretty miserably! I have another edited version with yellow figuring prominently.
But I loved the public transport system. I walked a ton this day!
I keep flipping from the color shot to this, I like them for different reasons. This one because of the glimpses of life in the archway, and because I tend to lean towards b&w shots...but overall I find myself preferring the color version.
