Umezono #1

Kira's birthday meal tonight is at Umezono, our favorite Japanese restaurant. Kira will be 13 tomorrow, so I'll officially be a mother of a teenager. She chose a lovely Udon soup with spinach, chicken, fish cake, shrimp, and onions--oh, and a beautiful raw egg in the middle (it cooks as she eats around it!). I love that she loves Japanese culture and food! Yummy!

I had some sushi and tempura--one sushi was a welch shell? Now I can't remember what it was called. Will have to call back!
