Took a black and white photo from this a.m. and decided to upload in Picmonkey to see if I could use it for ETSOOI-used the "lipstick tool" and I would NOT suggest viewing large. I can't apply my own lipstick well. :) Thanks @taffy for the challenge!
IF you have the time, please see the original in mono--honestly, I prefer the other shot, but, I do like a challenge for color!: http://365project.org/darylo/365/2013-09-23
@anazad511@4bellaarte@eyesmile Oh, gosh, thanks very much for the favs! I will have to come back and do a bit more editing. Can't tell if I like the one mono leaf intentionally left, but hey, grey/gray is a color/colour right? :)
@ikamera You are very kind. Ended up taking a bunch more time than I really had. Will try to come back later and see if I can touch up a few more (thankfully did in picmonkey). Thanks for the comment!
@genealogygenie@nanderson@quietpurplehaze@cimes1@btorrey Wow, really many thanks to you all. It was a whim to get something in and I'm so pleased with the response! I've been limiting myself to the mono setting these days to try something new. And then I decided to just "experiment" with the lipstick tool (would not recommend that thing for detail work, though!).
I just had an interesting experience with this photo. It was the first of the two I saw, and in fact I *only* looked at this one this morning. And loved it. Starting with the grayscale one this afternoon, however, I'm no longer as thrilled by this, and in fact I'm going to go fav the other. :^)
This is just fab Daryl - love your cool rainbow flower! Thank you for all your lovely comments and favs on my project - especially my car and feather shot!! Really is appreciated - though I don't have much time to say it these days : )) fav
@grammyn@houdiniem@kirstenpicchick@gerry@jyokota@juliedduncan@rennes@ness50@aecasey Wow, thanks everyone--this response is really wonderful! Junko, picmonkey is easy to use and a great program when I can use it BEFORE uploading to 365. The lipstick tool was a little more time consuming than I hoped originally, but I'm pleased it made an impact. Thanks so much for favs and comments. I still love the original better, but this has flavor! :)
I can't help myself. Of course I looked at it large, and I think you did OK, and least on my small laptop screen. I assume that you didn't expect all those favs since the B&W is your favorite, but this deserves attention for imagination and originality. It looks good too. Fav.
@gailmmeek Thanks Gail! It was more labor intensive than I originally thought, and truly, my hands with mouse and lipstick tint tool are not really adept at this kind of work. On my face even. :)
@stimuloog Thanks Marloes--this was really a surprise that folks liked it so much, but it's been very encouraging. I loved your envelope one today. VERY clever.
@rvwalker Thanks Ross. Yes, I'm partial to the original one taken in mono setting on my camera, but the lipstick tool worked fine for what I needed, and I think it really was one of my best creative shots. I have very limited "editing" skills. :)
@rennes Thanks very much Lisa. You have one too! It's gorgeous outside, so I'm going to get out there as soon as I finish up some work (booooo work!). Cheers!
@gozoinklings Totally blown away. And here I was in love with the mono shot. :) Hey looks like we are both in the ETSOOI final. I loved your shot. That rust is so great! DOF too. I thought all of them were awesome shots!
@homeschoolmom It's one of my all-time favs. Too bad I only saved a very crappy version of it, so I can't print it (wanted it on the calendar I made for my family this year). Waaaaaah.
Talk about subjectivity!
