Orienteering NZ

Our neighbours have a Spanish exchange teacher staying for a few weeks. They are trying to give him lots of NZ experiences, so today I took him to an orienteering event at the local forest. As he had never tried this sport before, we did a short course together, then he completed a longer course by himself. It was a good day for orienteering, as the predicted rain and wind didn't eventuate and it wasn't too cold.

@tellefella a bit like crosscountry running/walking with a map and compass. You need to locate controls (as shown in photo) to complete the course. A fun sport.
