Sunset on the pin oaks

These oaks were planted down by our pond a few years ago and have struggled to get going. I think that they are finally growing!

Great image with the wonderful warm evening glow against those lovely Silhouettes, although Pin Oaks are one of the fastest growing Oaks they do take a little time to get going, growing up to 3 feet a year and reach a height of 70 to100 feet and living for 150 years. just be a little patient Dianne they will look magnificent when fully grown:)

Very evocative for me - it reminds me of when my daughter was a Girl Guide and listening to her and her fellow guiders sing Taps at the end of a meeting. Love that song.
