Field Of Hay Bails by digitalrn

Field Of Hay Bails

Today was a long day at work so I knew I wouldn't have time to do much with photos tonight. On my way to work this morning I grabbed a quick photo of this nice piece of meadow dotted with these hay bails. The field is loaded, but I didn't want to overwhelm the shot so I just focussed on these few.
Very nice! I'm glad to see someone has their hay cut!

This is beautiful. We have similar fields here in Maryland; the first place I ever saw large round bales like these was near the Rio Grande River in New Mexico.
Yesterday, June 24, I posted a picture of a wagon loaded with the old-fashion small oblong bales. The farmer was off-loading them into his barn.

This is a perfect example of "less is more" It almost looks like you carefully arranged the bales for greatest effect!

Great shot. I think things look better in odd numbers too. I never get to see this kind of scene here in suburbia, so it's nice to see here.

Regarding your question on my picture today, no shading. I actually had my camera on a tripod and remote triggered two handheld strobes to get the shadows. As always, thanks for the comments.

Beautiful shot. There was an incident a few months ago in Queensland when the farmer woke the next day to find that persons unknown had during the middle of the night painted happy faces on all his bales. Turned out that some of the local ladies after a few wines thought it would be a fun thing to do. The hay bales looked great with some then being sold off for charity.

I just came back from TN where it seemed like it was endless field after field of hay bales. They are very picturesque and I had to resist stopping at each field to take a picture.

Great coloring in this!

Thanks for your comment on "McKee's Half Falls." Yes, it is along routes 11/15 near Port Trevorton. :)

I suppose that plant would look like Three Mile a lot, two cooling towers, only one operating. Tennessee and PA have a lot of cows and fields in common it seems!

Thank you for the nice hydrangea photo comment
