I pass through this underpass every once and awhile when I am out driving around looking for photo opps, and I thought it would fit nicely into our theme this week. Actually on top of the bridge is a walking trail that spans a couple miles. This is very close to a place called Cornwall Iron Furnace and Mines. It is located in Cornwall, PA. The original town still stands as well as many of the old mining homes which were inhabitied by the many miners who worked the mines. It is a quaint little mining town. The quarry has since filled with water and now it is going to be transformed into a beautiful recreational park. So there should be fishing and boating. It is still in its early stages. Can't wait till it's complete. More photo opps, and fishing.
Love the shape of the underpass and the foliage surrounding it. The bright yellow sign is a great accent to the deep tones of the rest of the photo. A wonderful choice.
What a gorgeous-looking glen you drive through here! I suspect you don't get that lush greenness without a bit of rain, but it certainly lends itself to a beautiful photo.
This is just lovely.
SO appropriate to the theme.
I really love some of the modern takes on the curve theme that I've been seeing, but I think this, in its beautiful simplicity, is one of my favourites.
I was just browsing through your photos today - having some quiet time and saw this one. I grew up in Pennsylvania, spent about 20 years there; went to college in Grantham and visited this spot on several occasions. Brought back OLD memories. Small world!
