Rick, this is a cool shot and also is pretty funny as I also took several "power" shots yesterday....didn't know the theme and I guess I probably can't officially use them since I took them yesterday...but I got a few good ones so am going to share at least 1- just won't tag it....and to answer your ? about the bridge...looked it up on mapquest: Hopewell to Lynchburg - 120 miles and to Roanoke 170 miles.
Good shot Rick - nice background.
My husband used to climb these as a young linesman (38 years ago) - he was of very slight build in those days and would have to climb out on a "goldola" - a ladderlike frame that was suspended beside the high voltage wire & do the work.
(Just a bit of history there of my husband's apprentice days :D)
Fab lighting and yep I don't think you should touch them although I've heard that if you only touch one wire you are okay it you touch two you are fried!!!
it does seem very imposing and powerful! really awesome shot with that ominous sky in the back ground!
Rick, Thank you so much for your very nice comments =) Logan is a standard long hair dachshund, he weight about 16 lbs. and funny story, no training was necessary to get him help me with the dishes! must be in the genes lol!
(don't forget to tag it!) (:
