Whistle

Back when we celebrated Veterans Day, I posted a photo of my Grandfather who had served in World War One (1914 - 1918) He served as a machine gun operator. He shared a story with me of the time a hand grenade exploded near him, leaving him very hard of hearing. This is a photo of his Air Raid Whistle that he carried with him, and he told me whenever they saw enemy planes approaching, they would blow the whistle. This whistle is stamped J. Hudson & Company. It still works quite well, and it's another precious keepsake of my Family's history.
What a wonderful keepsake! The is picture is great as well. Excellent details!
