Let's face it, sometimes life, and the things that happen to us really stink. It is just that simple. Our friends all mean well when they tell us, "Things will improve" or "Things could be worse." When you're going through those difficult times, words like that are not always comforting. We know they mean well, and most times we listen and thank them for their concern, but really, we still feel bad. Even for those who have a strong faith, depending on the situation, there may be no answers to be found, All we can do during times like this is wait. Wait and see where life leads., So simply put, sometimes Hope Stands Alone. I don't think that's a bad thing.
Great photo to accompany your commentary. I know people "mean well" but I just hate it when people say..."Call me if I can help" or "let me know how I can help" like I am going to call them in the middle of the night when I am desperately in need of comforting over some personal tragedy in my life or that I would even consider asking them to stop over to help me do something that needs doing that I cannot do alone...and on and on...as for me I try to think of some way to help and then just do it...people so often are just too proud to ask for help or they just find it too difficult...so fruit for thought...do something; don't just sit there ;-]
Hello Rick. It was so nice reading such a thought provoking caption for a change. Its been a while since I've had the time to stop by and comment. I feel bad that I can't always comment. Thank YOU though for always leaving me wonderful comments. I do notice, and appreciate them.
Wonderful addition to the theme btw.
Beautiful pic - Hang in there! This too shall pass.... Besides, if you have friends, you are not standing alone - even if they put their feet in their mouth.
This is truly beautiful. It could be a greeting card or even combined with some of your other pieces in a book. You should seriously look into that. I think God has given you a gift. Both the pictures and words are so moving and so real.
Hope in the face of all doubt... something people think we are crazy for it.... Interesting tree there... looks like a desert tree, but the snow makes me wonder what it is...
You have captured the outline of a strong and graceful tree. What a great metaphor for dealing with life. It is especially lovely in B&W with the little edge of red in the framing to give zest to the composition.
Georgeous Rick--and I sometimes think that when Christ makes all things new and His people are with him, those left behind will have lost that hope. Won't that be hell! No hope is hell, hope is heavenly.
Wonderful addition to the theme btw.
