On my way home from work today I stopped by Mt. Gretna Lake / Beach. On this side you can walk around and enjoy the wooded area, and remain in the shade. On the other side, if you enjoy swimming, you can enjoy the beach. I must say, I wasn't surprised to see it so packed. I sat for a few minutes and watched all the activity. You could hear the laughter of all the young people having fun, and they were having a blast jumping in. On this side of the lake, under the trees, it is so much more relaxing. There was a slight breeze moving through the trees, but in spite of the breeze, it was quite humid. I took a few photos, but ended up liking this one the best. I guess it was the position of the bench, the shade, the shadows, and the effects of the B/W.
I would love to sit on this bench, with my camera and a notebook just in case. But I would even love it more to just enjoy such a peaceful place. And watching or hearing kids swimming would actually add to my pleasure, as I suspect it did for you.
Definitely looks like a wonderful place to sit on a warm evening while out for a walk. Is Mt. Gretna anywhere near the camp Gretna Glen? While teaching I was there for missions week. This is lovely in B&W- adds to the sereness of the evening.
I think you were on the best side of the Lake ! It looks so peaceful & after a hard days work that is what you need. I love the b/w, it accentuates the shade!
This bench looks very lonely, for some reason. You did a nice photo on it, though. We are having some very high humidity and heat here too :( Not my kind of weather at all
