Today was a "Get Things Done" day, because I had no meetings. As an RN, I am now required to maintain a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years in order to renew my license. So, I spent some time sitting at my desk completing one of my on-line courses. Today's class was Resident Assessment: Physical, Cognitive and Sensory. Sounds interesting doesn't it? I find it extremely difficult to sit at a computer, listening as an on-line teacher goes through the lesson material, but I managed to successfully complete it. It was about 2 hours of listening. All the while I'm sitting there, my mind is going through this list of things that I need to do. All of a sudden I began thinking about my camera, so I pulled it out and began taking a few photos. So here you have me sitting, listening and taking in the lesson material. Trust me, it's hard for me to sit still that long. The camera helped LOL, and I guess this counts as a theme shot? Besides, I did get a 90% on my test, so I guess it helped, and it requiired minimal effort.
I can't sit still very long either! I'm glad you pulled your camera out! This is a wonderful pic! The caring hand of an RN! I think nurses are very special people! :0)
Congratulations on your test score! Love this shot! It captured your day and fit the theme! I never manage to figure out a photo for the themes, so I'm really impressed at how good you are at this.
I had a day where I saw a lot of your colleagues today. Glad you are keeping up with your training.. and I get ya about sitting there and listening... I cant be on the phone longer than 2 minutes before Im going for a pad and pen to doddle..
love this shot...
I have come to believe that the nature of the internet has had the effect of reducing our attention span. We are continually jumping from link to link, rarely completing a thought before moving on to the next thing.
Glad you got a good score! I just completed a very boring online course recently myself...so I have come to the conclusion that though online classes are convenient, they may not be any better than the "sage on the stage" scenario!
On-line courses are definitely harder to pay attention to. I either doodle around all my notes, or dust the room while I'm listening. It's not hard for me to listen to a lecture when I see the prof. but with no visual, it's tough. And you can't ask spontaneous questions either, so you miss out on the extra dialogue. But you figured out a great "filler" activity. I like the shot- perspective, b&w- it's all good!
Yay! 90%!!! Good job! Sometimes not concentrating so hard on the subject matter, actually makes it so you are more focused. Ok, that's what I used to tell my mom when I wanted to watch television while I did my homework! Love the b/w and angle.
Perfect shot - I have the same problem sitting too long... I have a TV next to my computer so I can watch my favorite shows while I look at 365 or email, etc. Let's say it together, "We are Multi-Taskers and proud of it!" hehe
Great shot and love the glasses! I have to take continuing ed classes too and can so relate! I have an extremely hard time listening to the online tutorials too! Glad you made it through and with a 90%!
On-line courses are the way to go. I like to take them when my brain gets bored--they have some interesting ones at the University. Good for you, Rick, even if it is mandatory. I like the shot--it screams student, lol
@alecio Alecio, thanks for asking. Yes my hand is doing well. Occasionally depending on how I bend or grasp something, I do have a little sharp pain, but all in all. it is good.
love this shot...
I like your B & W shot! very nicely composed!
I hope you do well in your test
