Everything is so dry. We had a little rain the other evening, but just enough to wet the surface. The grass is brown, and you can hear it cracking under your feet when you walk on it. Most of the flower pots will be emptied into the garbage on Thursday. We need rain! I spotted this dried up leaf that found its way into our yard. I liked the texture, so I grabbed my macro and took a few close-up shots. Some of the fine details we would normally miss, but it's only when we get "up close and personal" that we discover the fine, but yet significant details that make up the whole. Well, tomorrow it's back to work. I am sure there will be plenty for me to do. Thank you again for all your support during the past week. You are all very kind. Have a wonderful evening / night, and a beautiful day tomorrow.
That's how our grass gets when it dries out. I am always amazed that it comes back. I swear this is the year it won't and then it does after the fall rains begin. Grass is really tough stuff.
Gorgeous! Fab textures, but too bad it's been so dry. A break with rain is supposed to como tomorrow, so hopefully it will make its way to you. I'll take this heat over the cold of winter though. I hope tomorrow goes well.
This is a real "Wow" picture, Rick. Such great detail . .. it looks beautiful!
(Wish that I had a macro so I could get some of that "up and personal" stuff, too.)
Love this close-up, Rick! Great textures and colors! The heat has been very bad in Missouri, too! I hope we get some rain soon, before everything dries up!
Love the details of the viens. We had a couple rainshowers on Monday, but it's been dry since then. So far, we're ok, but you never know... Hope your return to work goes smoothly.
This project makes you look at things like this you would normally just tread on ! This dried leaf is so beautiful, the textures & colours & you feel you could just crunch it up in your hand.
@mary1440 Hi Mary, the day went well, keeping busy with everything I had to catch up on. It actually felt good getting back into some kind of normalcy. Thank you for asking,.
I love the detail and colors of this shot! Wow, that leaf looks dry. We finally got some rain and it cooled things down a bit. Glad your life is getting back to normal.
Great Macro shot we had five years of drought and I still remember the crunching of the 'lawn' which we finally dug out. Best Wishes for you all to get some lovely soaking rain before it gets any worse. Of course you realise that you now have another advocat in your corner, and you can Pray to him to intercede on your behalf especially for the rain!
(Wish that I had a macro so I could get some of that "up and personal" stuff, too.)
Hope work goes well
Have a good night.
