Well, we made it to Lake Erie, and we had a full day of fishing. My Son and I arose early this morning, 5:45am drove to Port Clinton, Ohio and boarded the fishing boat by 8:00am. Now let me tell you, it was mighty cold riding in that open boat for 1 hour and 45 minutes to our fishing hole. We were fishing for yellow perch. All the while sitting on deck with my hooded sweatshirt pulled up over my head shivering, I couldn't help wonder, do yellow perch only live 1 hour and 45 minutes off shore? Wow, once we stopped and dropped anchor it was much better. All in all we had a wonderful time. There was a group of about 12 - 14 people on board, and we each caught about 6 fish in the actual 3 hours of fishing we did. The captain said the perch were not biting as good as they usually do. The fishing was fun, the time out with my Son was priceless. It was something he wanted to do, and I'm glad we could make it work. This photo is one I like best to capture the day. It is now 11:20pm, and I am sitting at McDonalds so I can post a photo of the past two days. I was totally unable to get to McDonals yesterday. My Wife and Mother-In-Law had us guys wrapped too tight. There was no way of getting away. Tomorrow we move on to Pittsburgh, to a motel with free Wi-Fi. Will begin to catch up then. Hope you are all doing well.
that's beautiful, amazing shot and processing, the fishing sounds great - and your description of not being able to escape to internet connection made me grin
Nice composition and the water looks lovely!! So glad u got to spend the day fishing with your son!!! How nice! And it sounds so fun! Perch fishing is something I really enjoy doing too :)
''My wife & mother-in-law had us wrapped up too tight '' that is the best statement I have heard for a long time Rick & very well put !!! Glad you & your son managed to escape for a bit fishing !! The water looks like a pillow in this shot.. just soft & gentle !
Beautiful shot of that water and great color! Did the movement of the water make you feel a little queasy .. it always happens to me! Nothing like a "priceless" day with the family (son)!!
@karenann No Karenann, I never minded the water. My Wife, yes, she must take something, and my Son took something just as protection, as I did, just in case. Didn't want to ruin the day by chancing it. It was pretty smooth for the most part.
@cglist Ok Cindy, will do. I thought of you guys when we came out through, thinking that was your area. I'll wave and toot. It will be about 2:00pm till we pass through there.
A lovely picture of theblue water and the white boat way out there. I'm so glad that you and your son had a great time fishing. 6 perch would make a nice little meal or did you throw them overboard again.. my husband loves fishing, he cleans them and fries them for me but he himself doesn't eat fish unless if it's smoked.
I made this a fav for me that water is stunning and when I looked at this photo my mind thought "Jesus walked on the water" it also was choppy the day He did that but He calmed His fishermen (read apostles) I am so glad you had the time with your son Rick.
Glad the day worked out for you... and this shot will be a lasting memory!!
like you had a great time.
nice !!!
so beautiful .. =)
