In the Master's Hands

When I look at something like this, it amazes me to think that it started out as a plain piece of metal without form, but when subjected to the fine tuned hands of the master craftman, it becomes a beautiful piece of art.
Is it from a railing or a gate, Rick? It must take some time to create something so elaborate.

Great lighting and shadow . . and such an unusual piece. Is it decorative only or practical? LOL Listening to myself with all of these questions brings me back to your comment. We're all crafted . . one way or the other by the master. Up to each of us to know how to USE it.

@sabresun Matt, actually it is a fixture on an old desk drawer.

@digitalrn Ah, I see. I wasn't sure of the scale, but now I can place it.

It's very lovely- a nice subject for b/w. It's true how some of the most unlikely materials become a thing of beauty with the right touch. Oh yes- that definitely reminds me of another Master Craftsman!

Sometimes we take for granted the simple things in our life... we forget that everything was made with effort and perhaps love. Perfect reminder Rick.

I want that desk! This is really beautiful and your shot of it is so well done because it takes one part of a bigger thing and turns it into art. So you kind of did exactly what that metal craftsman did in a different medium. That's really cool.

This is really pretty--I always think that when I see sculpted marble. I'd love to be able to do that

It is beautiful.

I agree. It's amazing. My nephew is a blacksmith and I am always thrilled to see what he can turn a bar of steel into.
