This Old Barn by digitalrn

This Old Barn

This barn has been deteriorating for the past few years, and you wonder how much longer this beauty is going to stay standing. The wind has been blowing hard this past year, and it has seriously been losing ground, but even in its current condition, I still think it maintains a certain degree of rustic charm. I think it deserves to be in this week's antiquity theme.
wow, i really love this shot, i love the b/w on this too.. you sure do have an eye for such amazing shots

Excellent shot Rick. I was just looking at an old barn in my neighborhood today. It'll show up on here sooner or later. I love the old barns.

I love old structures. Nice work on this. Isn't it amazing how they still stand thru all the wind and weather???
January 18th, 2012
Nicely done! It does beg the question of how long it will stand!? : )
January 18th, 2012
I love barns. I have a lot of pics of barns. I love the old ones like this in B & W. Great shot Rick!

I love these old barns, especially ones like this one that have stone foundations. Nice subject for a B&W treatment and for the weekly theme.
January 18th, 2012
That's such a cool shot! Looks like it would be fun to explore the inside too. :D
January 18th, 2012
I'll bet the wind howls through the gaps on a windy night. It does have a rustic charm.
January 18th, 2012
Love old barns! Perfect for the theme :)

January 18th, 2012
I don't get to see any barns now that I moved to the city, lovely capture and B&W shot Rick.
January 18th, 2012
Hi Rick- beautiful shot.... good to be back to 365 and see your awesome work!
January 18th, 2012
Love this shot, I want to get into shooting barns and you just reminded me!
January 18th, 2012
Lots of character.
January 18th, 2012
Nice shot Rick. It is sad that this part of Americana is disappearing from the countryside. Around here, I see way too many barns collapsing into the ground.
January 18th, 2012
Well, you know I'm a sucker for old, run down things, especially barns. This is just gorgeous!
January 18th, 2012
You've caught the barn just right - good shot.
January 18th, 2012
beautiful shot! great comp, sad they're disappearing
January 18th, 2012
I think of all the workmanship that went into a building like this. Good thing you got a photo before it collapses..
January 18th, 2012
It'll probably be there another hundred years. Heck, it's not even leaning. Great capture.
January 18th, 2012
Nice! The ridge pole is still straight so it's going nowhere for now. If they repair the roof, it will stand another hundred years. Antiquity? Yes!
January 18th, 2012
Perfect theme shot Rick, I think this theme is made for you alone !!
January 18th, 2012
I think I love every picture of an old barn I see. Great job.

January 18th, 2012
Beautiful shot and processed. I agree it with the theme. :-) It's really great to capture things that one day will be gone. :-)
January 18th, 2012
Some people say that about me! Great tones and love the subject you chose! Great theme photo! I think anything over 50 years is considered antique...right?
January 18th, 2012
Rick just love this and so brilliant for this weeks theme! :-))
January 18th, 2012
What great processing!
January 18th, 2012

January 18th, 2012
This is a beautiful theme shot! I love old barns like this. I hope it doesn't fall down. That would be a terrible shame.
January 18th, 2012

January 19th, 2012
It is beautiful! I love old buildings and often wonder what they have seen
January 19th, 2012
This is beautiful. I love old barns ( we call them sheds here ) You can imagine what they used to be. And be a little sad at what they have become, but they make such beautiful photos.
January 19th, 2012
I like it. Processing turned out well.
January 20th, 2012
Love old barns. The rustier, the better!
January 22nd, 2012
Beautiful- even in its run-down state. I agree- antiquity does not always mean the things you can hold in your hand!
January 22nd, 2012
Love old barns!
January 23rd, 2012
A Manflower again! They are almost extinct in this neck of the woods... they are taken down board by board and turned into coffee tables and the like, and strip shopping centers grow in their place.
