I drive past this tree every day, and today I thought, why not. This particualr tree is probably missed by almost everyone that goes by it, or at least taken for granted, because it's always there. If I make it stand out, it will be noticed. In the same way, I believe we take for granted things we have at our disposal on a regualr basis. We are a blessed people, and we have so many things to be thankful for, but unfortunately it is when we lose that "something special" that we realize how important and beauitiful it really was.
It all has to do with the light..I see how plants grow towards the light and once in a while I have to turn the pots around so that a plant can straithen itself out again..this is a natural phenonemom. your tree looks really extraordinary in iths growth.
Beautiful shot of a beautiful tree. I know what you mean Rick. I just finished watching a news story about a town in Texas that is just about to run out of water. Incredible- and your words really hit home with that. I do take a lot of things for granted. I don't mean to, but I do.
It's a beauty! And it seems to have withstood the storms of life. I agree with you; we are the most fortunate! Thankfully I think most of us appreciate it daily. 365 certainly helps us to look around us and seek out the beauty that is right in front of us.
The leaves look spread out in levels a little like a cedar, but I don't think it is a cedar is it? It also looks like its lost all its branches on the lefthandside which I'm guessing is man's intervention over the years.
Love this in bw and the contrast is great. There's this twisted tree here that I see, during the winter it is so beautiful because you can see the trunk better, but it's also in front of someone's house and I've not worked up the courage to ask permission to photograph the tree. :)
