This is the front stoop to a little business near where I work called "Furniture Medic." He specializes in antique furniture repair, and I believe the decor on the front steps fits the business quite well. I've never been inside, but I do have a few tables from my Grandmother that could use a little touching up. I always hesitate to do anything to alter the wood's surface, as this does affect the piece's value, but the the legs could be tightened up a bit. May need to check it out sometime.
Beautiful photo, Rick! This reminds me of my youth in New York State. I watch enough Antiques Road Show to know that you are smart to be cautious about fixing your Grandmother's antiques.
This is right up my alley, Rick, I'm copying it on my front porch this summer. I surely have an old chair, a pail and I love the panseys! Love your picture today! You have a good eye for things.
This is cute decor. If the owner does refurbishing then he knows how to repair and maintain an antique. My dad does that as a "hobby" and the ultimate question is sentimental value versus monetary value. It's sort of like those restoration shows, sometimes a pieces value is worth more if fixed depending on the market and current state of disrepair. :) Of course you didn't need all that, and more than likely already knew it. It's a very cool shot.
