Home Sweet Home

Now that the kids have moved out on their own, and we are making some home renovations to the interior, it's nice to soften things up a bit. As we grow into our more mature years (I like that better than saying older years) it's nice to soften things down a bit more. There's not as much activity in the house, so in the evenings, it is nice to have the soft lights burning. It helps in allowing our "maturing" bodies to relax. It's a different life, and it has taken a little while to get used to the change of being alone in our house, but we are adjusting. The kids live close enough to stay in touch, and we enjoy the surprise when they pop in for a visit.

You make the future sound less frightening and hopeful. I have a hard time imagining it being just me and my husband alone in the house.

Great warm lighting. If I lived there I would invite myself to your kitchen. You did such a great job there.

@webfoot It's something that comes quickly, and when it happens you get this weird feeling all through your being. It wasn't too bad, but I must say, it does take some getting used to
