Solar Panel Camera Strap?

"What if you could keep your camera charged all day while shooting outdoors using the power of the sun? That’s the idea behind this conceptual camera strap designed by Weng Jie. The solar panels built into the strap harvest energy from the sun beating down on your neck as you’re shooting away.

Many cameras would need to specifically allow for this strap, but do you think this idea is feasible?"

What do you guys think of this?
I think it is a pretty neat idea. I just don't like that I would have to buy a totally new camera so I could use this. Then again I don't really know much about solar power and solar panels. I just know the sun charges them and stuff works, so I'm no expert.
But what do you guys think of this idea?

It's a neat idea, but I just don't have the need for it and I'm not sure who would. I get well over 1,000 shots per charge on my battery, and I'm sure the cost of of the strap would be quite a bit more than the cost of a second or third battery. If I were going to be away from a power outlet a month or so it might be useful, but I think for 99% of users power isn't an issue.

I think it's a great idea and looks very cool but I also wouldn't buy a new camera just for this 'feature' ~ I do go out with 2 charged batteries anyway.

I think it is a great concept! I am with you on the fact that I would not be too happy if I had to buy an all new camera, though. I can't wait to see how it all unflolds and develops!

that's pretty smart! but it kinda sucks that you have to have the right camera..

It would be great for those days when you want to use your camera immediately only to realize that you've forgotten to charge your batteries, but it would be very difficult to integrate with most camera.
