but im not sure if this is a good watermark or if i even did it right. So what are some ways you ca watermark photots? what software or websites do you use?

i just use the text tool on photoshop or picnik to write my name or initials on mine. i think the one you have done on your photo works well.

Laney, I was just wondering that myself. Truth is, I used to know how but forgot the steps- I do recall having to use a separate program and that it was a rather tedious process. These days I use Picasa to do basic editing on some of the shots I upload- there is a text feature that I'll try out for the next shot I add. One rule of thumb is that no matter how you go about it you might consider a smaller font size and placement in the photo so that it is visible but unobtrusive; you don't want to place it on your main subject. Hope that helped. - Best, C.

So i started watermarking. its not very hard and like katie said i just go to the text tools in picnik and make it 'overlay' and its fairly simple. the only dificulty is that i always forget to put it and have to go back :p

like katie, i use photoshop's text layer. i just play with the opacity of the text layer and usually place it at 13%. though sometimes i forget to attach it before posting, so now, i make it a point to put the watermark as the last step of editing. the one that you have there on your pic's good. :)
