I found this inspiring idea on Flickr, it's about scanography, where you place items (or/and your face) on a flatbed scanner, and use the scanner to capture a 'photo'. It gives some very interesting perspectives, and I will sure give this a try as well!

I've tried something similar, but beware scanners are incredibly hard to get clean when you want to. I use my scanner for old photos and every smudge and speck of dirt shows. It took me forever to get my scanner back in shape after doing this
@herussell And what if you place a transparent (yet firm) sheet...like for an overhead projector, on the glass plate of the scanner..... Just a thought ;-)
