I am just wondering what the criteria is for a non ace member to appear on the Popular Page.
During May, 2 of my photos appeared on the Page.
Another one reached more than 12 fav's within a day,.but didn't make it to.the page. That's ok, because to me it's not such a.great photo.
Today my collage reached 28 fav's so far. Do collages appear on PP?
Just wondering out of curiousty. I am so.overwhelmed by all the wonderful comments that I have received so far, that I am satisfied with the outcome. That's more than enough recognition for me. A big thank you to everybody that's supporting my project.

I haven't been around for a while and I'm noticing some changes...one being that the PP changes every time I click on it, even within a few minutes! What's going on there?!
There are 50 photos 'selected' for PP at any given time, but the PP page only shows 25 of those 50 (randomly chosen). So you'll see different ones when you refresh.
Anything is eligible for PP -- there's no manual selection. But you are competing against other members for the 50 slots, and also against yourself -- to get onto PP a photo needs to do unusually well compared to your other recent photos. If most or all of your photos gain plenty of favourites, it becomes harder.
I'm lucky enough to have amazing followers and get a lot of favourites on most of the photos I upload, but this does mean it's almost impossible to reach PP -- I have many shots with over 100 faves which didn't make PP. I will have to take something truly outstanding to get onto PP this year (or intentionally upload a bunch of really bad shots!). That's OK though -- I get onto the trending page and the top twenty fairly often, so I get more than enough recognition, and I'm happy for others to get a chance to make it onto the PP page!
I'm not complaining because that's not why I'm here......but, it doesn't seem to make any sense when one has 30+ favs, and has just as many followers and friends, comments as someone else who has 5 or 6 favs and makes PP and I don't. I get on trending page often so that's fine. I'm mainly here for the fun and friendship, but once in a while I think it's nice to be recognized especially if one gets over 25+ favs. Maybe they should just eliminate PP. Its rules seem to have changed and not anything like in the past.
@abirkill I often thought it would be fun to reach that stage I noticed you and a few others were at where you are too popular to be on the popular page. The reality for me however seems to be that I have fallen somewhere in the middle where I get too many favs to be considered for PP but too few to make the TT on a regular basis! lol.... Ah well... it's all about the photography at the end of the day right?
@gazbadger I believe that's the kind of thing that the trending page was intended to solve (or at least help with), but I don't think it works as well as it could because of it only being visible to Ace members, which limits the ability for non-Ace members (the majority) to discover trending work.
When it was first introduced and described as being for Ace members only, I thought that it would be viewable by anyone but only show shots from Ace members, which would seem to make more sense to me (and I'm speaking as someone who isn't an Ace member).
By allowing anyone to view trending photos, you'd increase the chances of a great shot that falls in that 'middle ground' to gain enough favs to reach the TT, and still provide motivation to upgrade (get featured on the relatively 'easy' trending page). But then, if I wanted a site that played by my rules I'd make my own ;)
@gazbadger Thank you for your valuable opinion. Yes, it's all about the photography and the passion for doing it and the enjoyment to share the beauty with others.
@abirkill That's exactly how I thought it would be rolled out too. At the time Ross released it I was actually subscribed and I did find that I was seeing those great shots that would otherwise have slipped through the cracks but I have since let my subscription exipire amd now obviously don't get that option. I understand Ross wanting to hold back an incentive for people to subscribe but it seems like an unrealised resource as it stands now.
Oh and now I am.feeling embarrassed,.because my.pic made it to.the popular page. I really wanted to know how.it works and.do not.mind if it.do.not.appears in.the best pages. I have never ecpect that people would actually like my photos, so each.comment (compliments for me) is very special to me. I have made a.whole lot of friend,.learned a.lot. I am beyond thankful for alltheir ssupport, encouragement and.advice. And most of all.for the time that they spent to.visit my project.
365 is a great experience
@cimes1 Don't get rid of PP as those of us who are rather amateur and will never be on the trending page and rarely on PP it is quite motivating and very exciting to feel one has upped our game for 5 minutes. :-) Also if we are not Ace member we can see the popular page but not TP or TT.
