My cousin spent summer "wintering" in the South Pole at a research facility. The pictures he took of the Southern Lights were unbelievable, especially during the months when they got no daylight at all. Blew my mind. But, I couldn't do it! LOL! One year in New England just about made me lose my mind (and freeze to death!).
I feel like I am living in that story right now, here in New Hampshire, with 10 foot snow banks, no place to put anymore snow, and a weekend forecast for another foot of snow! Last night I went out and shoveled off the tops of the snow banks to make room for the new snow that will be falling.
Fascinating story about life on the South Pole. But I don't think the human body was designed to live in -40° temperatures!
Thank you for sharing these articles. The photography was fabulous and the information about the people and places very interesting.
