dead mouse

April 1st, 2012

What do you have to say about this dead mouse or whatever it is? My dad found it under our house.

poor thing

Certainly not very dignified. I figure if you take a picture of a dead creature, you owe them a proper burial.
April 1st, 2012
Are you trying to figure out if one of us killed it?
April 1st, 2012
@beautifulthing No! (LOL!) I just want to know if this is an actual mouse and if so, how it may have gotten under the house.
April 1st, 2012
I'm pretty sure it was @beautifulthing , in the parlour with a candlestick....
April 1st, 2012
@sfeldphotos If I was a betting girl, I'd say it walked under there.

@pwallis Shhhh...keep it on the DL!

Well, I've seen plenty of dead mice, and this one is a dead ringer for one. They like the dark, damp places like under houses because there are lots of bugs and other goodies running around under there, as well as water and shelter. They will sometimes sneak into your house for a little snack too. They usually have a variety of parasites on them, so make sure you don't touch one, and if you do, immediately wash your hands.

Call pest control. There's likely an army or Aryan mice under your house who are trying to take over the world!
April 1st, 2012
Just be thankful it walked under the house rather than inside it.

if you have a sister and she has a dolly house, I would suggest you put it on one of the beds so that it can sleep peacefully. Your sister will appreciate your gesture.
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto you could be right there, it is certainly not a gesture she'd forget in a hurry
April 1st, 2012
@sfeldphotos Why was your Dad under the house? If he could get there I guess the mice could... they sneak into the smallest gaps as I have found many a time when the cats thoughtfully bring one in for me to admire. Sometimes they are up for a game of hide and seek or chase, sometimes they look like this one, and sometimes they are decapitated!! Not a nice surprise first thing, especially when you tread on it in bare feet....!
April 1st, 2012
@lbmcshutter - I do think Sisters would appreciate a sick mouse.
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto You come up with the coolest ideas....
April 1st, 2012
A remnant of NIMH.
April 1st, 2012
poor little thing :-( @bobfoto hahahaha!
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto too funny! tears!
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto
OMG, nearly fell off the chair laughing at that one!!!!
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto , do you have sisters? are you speaking from experience....LOL
April 1st, 2012
@agima @pearlgirl @suebarni @onie @paulaag - I do have Sisters. ;)
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto Hilarious, Sam will now grow up slightly twisted because of you!! haha
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto lol, so evil. xD
April 1st, 2012
If you arnt sensitive put it on the compost. Otherwise a burial and a photo of the cross over grave. Depends if you have children, sometimes depends on their reaction.
April 1st, 2012
@filsie65 My dad was actually looking for the source of where some ants are coming from in my house but there was no luck. :(
April 1st, 2012
@jennywren Sorry,have re read your profile, didn't check your age. We get lots of mice in our garden and sometimes they just die, don't think they have long lives. They do also have a cute side, I posted one on my site where it was eating the birds peanuts.
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto haha thank goodness I don't have brothers! ;-)
April 1st, 2012
Looks like a field mouse to me. http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/herb-field-mouse-photo-2979.html
If you had one , you'll have dozens more.
BTW, I think that @beautifulthing is acting suspiciously guilty, Just saying...
April 1st, 2012
@5unflow3r I thought so too.....
April 1st, 2012
Riiight...
April 1st, 2012
@pwallis @5unflow3r I would've killed it dead, given the chance. I hate meeses almost as much as burds.
April 1st, 2012
@allisonrap I was about to tell @bobfoto the same !
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto Oh my god, your comment is hilarious! I’m the only sister of two brothers and it brought back many fond memories of the ways I suffered at the hands of both of them.
April 1st, 2012
@bobfoto you have sisters, but the question is, are they still talking with you? ;)
April 1st, 2012
@sfeldphotos looks to me what is called a (kangaro) mouse due to the long tail. maybe it died from eating too many ants :)
April 1st, 2012
Mice seem to have short lifes to me and to multiply quickly. Mice can get into very small places. In my city, they like to come into houses in the late fall. We can tell when it is getting colder because the mice start trying to come in. It is difficult to mice proof ones house, but it is possible. re: ants We have sugar ants here. We have tried to redirect them to the outside, but have failed. We do not call in the exterminator, but we use the liquid ant poison (the type that you put on tiny pieces of cardboard). That is effective.

I would say it's a mouse and it's definitely dead. It could have got under you house in many ways. I say if there's one mouse there are more...watch out!!!
April 2nd, 2012
@bobfoto I'm really happy that you aren't my brother!
April 2nd, 2012
@lorraineb @pocketmouse @allisonrap @sharonaddison @lisjam1 @jeancarl @buttercup - Thank you thank you thank you, my work here is done. And yes JeanCarl, my sisters still talk to me. ;)

Get a USB cord. Tape it to his tail and put him to work on your computer.
