Try as I might I can't clone the power cable out of this shot.

Any advice on the best approach to take? Brushes, layers, healing or clone?
I know the basics of PSE X but I just can't get a good result. All suggestions very welcome.

Thanks for your time.

I would go into PSP and use the clone but zoom in to the cable and then very carefully clone it with a 10pt brush.
The problem is that the surrounding area is not an even colour.
If you want to email me the full file I would like to have a go!

I would use the quick select tool around the area to isloate the coloured area then clone

Do you have Photoshop CS5?
Select the cable area then go to edit> fill > content-aware. And click ok and see what happens.

I can see why cloning would be hard on that one...

@godders I'd use clone, definitely! It would be a bit prickly but you could get there in the end :)

I had a go and it defeated me...This is the best I could do

@markjohnstone pretty good Mark, and better than I managed.

the trick is zooming right in getting your smallest clone brush and cloning by pixels then taking a smudge brush with an opacity of about 40% going over the parts that were cloned to blend them into the uncloned parts this was only a quick attempt to show you you can get a lot finer than this with a bit of time

That is easy to clone out the power line. Like has been stated above, you need to zoom into it. I don't process most of my photos, but if I have a power line that is taking away from the image, it goes "poof", but as for my pics, most of them are usually strictly SOOC. I think that LadyJane's @ladyjane is the best one. Lee Gordon's @asrai is okay too except I saw a little teensy flaw near the tree branches, but that was pretty darn close.
