If you could go anywhere in the world to photograph, where would you go and why?
Mine is Egypt
I have always had a fascination with the whole ancient history of this place. I would love to capture some of the amazing buildings, old relics and deserts
I totally want to go to Australia!! I've seen soo many shots on here from Australia.. And it looks beautiful :D aaaaannnnd.... I love australian accents....(:
Chernobyl. I would give an organ up to be able to go there and photograph. I've been fascinated by that place since I was about 11 years old. It's the ultimate abandonment!
Because it's where the majority of both mine and my husband's families came from about 3-5 generations ago (depending on the branch). I have always wanted to go there and see...well, everything. I think I would go photo crazy there.
I would LOVE to go to an abandoned asylum or hospital or prison... I love that sort of thing and I love decay... I think there are some amazing shots waiting to happen at one of these places! I also think undergrounds are fascinating!!
@ravenwolf423 Let's go together! :P If it wasn't in the freaking Ukraine, I'd be all over it. But not exactly a cheap destination, and my Russian sucks (hell, they don't even speak Russian there, what am I thinking). Maybe one day when I win the lottery!
I'd do something silly like bring iso800 film with me, just to fog it all with the radiation and be like "This is my film that got ruined by Chernobyl!" Definitely is a film sort of place... just gotta stick to low iso's. Oh to dream...
Oooo, a rainforest for sure! All those colors and creatures!! FUN! I would also like to go back to Guatemala with my camera. I love, love all their colors. Their culture would be really amazing to capture.
@hmgphotos I'm in America and I can't afford a new camera, let alone to travel, lol! Otherwise, I would love to go. If I win the Mega Millions lottery over here, I'll take you. You could teach me a lot too. I agree, film would be more authentic for that setting. I would stick to digital though, since I am not comfortable with film yet. I would love to get some dark and grainy type shots... Oh man, to dream is right!
Hm, probably South America.
I'd like to go to the Amazon Rainforest. There are a variety of animals and plants. I think it would be a fun experience. (:
@ravenwolf423 Damn that Mega Millions... don't you wish you were related to the people who just won it? I'd just take a year and travel the whole world photographing it if I won the lottery. First stop B&H in NYC... where I would buy a few D3s, a new lens or two, and like 500 rolls of film for my film cameras... then off to all the cool places. *sigh*
@hmgphotos Honestly I would hate to win, I'd be scared of crazy greedy people. But I would love the security for my kids. I would so tour the world with my family and show my kids things that I've only dreamed about.
@ravenwolf423 Yeah, that's why I would try to "fall off the radar" so to speak... definitely move out of this tiny town I live in now, and probably travel a lot initially. Photographing blown up nuclear plants! Haha
I have a massive list Im slowly working my way through but one place I'd LOVE to go but probably wont end up getting to is Antarctica...in my next life I'm hoping to come back a scientist or a doctor or a chef or a telecommunications expert or something that means I can apply for a season at an Antarctic base ;)
Any western national park in the United States. I fell in love with photography when I was at the Grand Canyon 8 years ago. And every time I go out there I just love the scenery
Greece hands down! I don't know what it is about Greece but if I could live there I would! I feel like movies have had a huge influence on that though haha- I could watch Mamma Mia all day! But the oceans are so clear... actually maybe just anyway that had clear oceans. Here in the states our oceans are basically brown with some new piece of garbage floating up every time the waves crash
aaaaaah, at this mon=ment and time, anywhere where there's snow.... I always LOVE the SNOW..... and growing up in California, I rmemeber taking treks every winters season to Tahoe or NY - just to see SNOW......
@samantherzz thanks for reminding me of my only overseas trip which was to Hong Kong/Singapore/Kuala Lumper :D there was a group of about 20 american girls and they asked if i could take a photo for them. and i said "alright 3,2,1" and they all started giggling and then said they loved my accent, i said thanks and they giggled again. was very amusing for my family :D im not one of those people that says i dont have an accent though :) cuz of course we all do to someone else :D
New Zealand would be my first destination :) would it also be silly to say Great Barrier Reef even though i live in Australia :D nonono theirs a place i saw in the mid coast of Western Australia i saw on a show i want to go :D all so close gosh.
OK to reach beyond my general borders Spain and Italy would be 2 must go places for me at one point in my life :) i watch too many documentaries :D
@lauren211 Come to Cyprus and we'll pop over to Greece together :)
For me, it has to be Italy! Then again, I would LOVE to go back to Paris with my dslr. I was absolutely in awe at how beautiful everything was. EVERYTHING!
I don't know. What I do want to photograph is beautiful waterfalls so anywhere with on of those. I love mountains too, Mount Tiede in Tenerife was spectacular to photo and it's surroundings was very photogenic. Those were the days when all I had was an APS and was just overcoming chopping peoples heads off
Number 1 - Tanzania - I used to live there but I so desperately want to go back and this time not be too shy/cautious about getting my camera out. There is so much I want to capture.. safari in Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti, Mt Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, and most of all just the day to day life in the villages around my old home..
Also.. India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, so many places :)
@spaceman I think Turkish troops do, as it's closed off to anyone else. I'd really love to see it too - it was thriving in the days prior to the war and nobody's gone back since.
Hawaii, I am Hawaiian and have always wanted to go. The rainforest, waterfalls, and tropical birds with all their colors would make for some beautiful pics!
I am totally in love with New York and some of my best shots ever were taken during my last visit there. I would love to go back once again, there's so much to see and photograph!!
For nature pics I'd like to go to Iceland. I've never been there but I've seen some amazing shots by other people.
@nikkers I agree! There are beautiful photo-oppurtunities everywhere!
But at this time I wished I could go to the sun and the blue skies... The rain bugs me.
@alisongbradshaw I could take a few shots for you, next spring?!? The tullips ar really closeby. I think I will shot them for this project, but you have to wait until late april...
Cambodia... a friend went there and some of the scenes she came back with were unbelievably stunning. Would love to see them in person (and photograph them too)
First comes to mind is Ireland. Most definitely. I would love to explore the country, travel to different places, capture the incredible landscape that is there. My grandmother's side is from Ireland, so I would love to visit where her parents lived before migrating to America in the 1900's. I would have to say Italy too! Also, my grandfather's side is from there, in Florence or Rome. Would be a dream to visit BOTH! =)
@cindy me too! It's on my wish list!
Yosemite National Park, Muir Woods, Alaska, Italy and Ireland.
I also would love to go back to the The Canadian Rockies and Yellowstone!
IRELAND! love all the green i see in photos, and old stone walls/architecture. also have family history with ireland, so that would make it even more fun.
To those of you who said Egypt...it's AMAZING!!! Do try to go if you can. I have been fortunate to visit a lot of my bucket list places...but there are still a few left...Africa (planning a trip there this fall) Easter Island, Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Bhutan, Patagonia...Scotland. So many places...will try to share pictures of my travels this year...heading off to Hawaii in a few weeks, so I'll have a glut of topside and underwater pictures to share.
@amescot Oh me tooooo! (*sigh*)... I would love to take b&w photos of cafes & street life in Paris :) @samantherzz sounds like a good reason to me... come on down!! :P
on my list right now... san francisco (i've never been to america but if i do go this has to be my first stop!), sweden, and i'd like to revisit gibraltar, sydney and moscow. sucks that i went to these places when i was younger and now want to go back to capture it all!
For all of you who want to come to Ireland, come on over, we'd love to have ye! :)
I've been to Paris lots of times, but I really want to go back and properly photograph the wonderful buildings...I had planned to go in Feb but it deosnt look like it will happen. I really want to travel everywhere with my camera though lol
I started thinking about it and the hard drive in my brain crashed ~ so many amazing places on the planet...I'll have to leave it at wherever I happen to be. :)
I would totally take this show on the road to Ireland. Then skip over the pond to Scotland. All that lush green. I have big plans LOL I want to capture as many castles in the highlands as I can and shoot some the craggy rocks on the coast in southern Ireland... cannot wait. My dream will become reality - SOME DAY!!! :)
Anyplace in Scotland, England or Wales to photograph the castles there. I backpacked around those areas years ago and was ready to pack up my belongings in the USA and move there permanently!
Scotland! My husband is from there and I would love to take a picture that will do this beautiful country justice!
Also, I am going to Singapore, and probably Malaysia in the spring. Fingers crossed I can learn something before then!
France - Hilary (Mixiewing) keeps getting such brilliant shots from there. Not too difficult to arrange.
The trouble is I can't think where I wouldn't want to go with a camera - that's the hard bit. Maybe back to INDIA, the land of my father: the bright colours of fluttering saris against the stunning green of rice fields , those sculptural sacred cows that wander everywhere, brown faces with blue eyes inherited from the time of Alexander, frangipani flower garlands, heaps of colourful powders they use for festivals, pyramids of spices, lotus flowers on water ....need to get me a ticket!
@conners Just coming to the end of my series on Guatemala - hoping to persuade some 365ers to go there, so hope you will pick up the baton - shall look forward to your shots.
Belgium or the province Limburg or even the village of Sint-Truiden and surroundings. To be honest this is the place where I live and it is beautiful. Problem is that most people only want to go to remote places and do not see the beauty of their own region.
I have been to Africa twice, and would go back to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana and Zimbabwe in a heartbeat! Didn't like the other countries as much....
I would go to Italy...and I AM going to Italy! I've never been outside the US, and I'm finally getting to go on the trip of my dreams to tour Italy for two weeks in July. CANNOT WAIT! I will probably take thousands of pictures...literally.
I would love to visit Prague, Czech Republic because of the city itself and Japan or China because of it's lights and they preserved most of their cultural and historical landmarks.
Ummm, this is extremely hard because I want to go back to so many places and visit others I haven't been to yet...Italy, Switzerland, England, France, the Netherlands are certainly on my go back list...and I suppose if I had to pick just one place I want to go but haven't I'd say New Zealand...and you can thank the LOTR movies for that - that place is GORGEOUS.
I used to like to go to places with gardens, flowers, and plants. However, I am broadening my photographic subjects since I got my digital camera. First, I thought of Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. These are my family's ancestral homes and these countries seem so lovely in the photographs I have seen. Then, I thought of more and more places I would like to go to. I can find things to photograph anywhere I go.
Ireland or Australia. My wife and I really want to visit both places.
But if I was forced to take just one more photo, and then never use my camera again, I would want to take a photo of a redwood forest, a few minutes before sunrise, on a cool, slightly-misty Spring morning, after the redwood sorrel have started blooming.

Not a very good reason.... I know... >.

@samantherzz - you're more than welcome down under any time :-)

2)Brasil
3)Cuba (Though as an American I'll probably never get to set foot on Cuba)
I would love to go to South Africa on an animal safari.
I guess my first two choices would be:
The abandoned city Varosha (Cyprus) - http://acidcow.com/pics/5614-abandoned-beach-resort-varosha-cyprus-52-pics.html
..and the abandoned japanese ghost-island Hashima http://www.google.ro/images?hl=ro&expIds=17259,27944,27955,28009,28060&xhr=t&q=hashima+island&cp=8&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&wrapid=tljp129490689711600&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1021&bih=649
..and my secondary options are the normal places, like New York,Egypt,Paris,Rio De Janeiro,Tokyo,Hong Kong,Amsterdam,London, etc.
But I`ll probably never get to see these places.

That`s a shame :( What a waste of space... Is the perimeter guarded by people?
For nature pics I'd like to go to Iceland. I've never been there but I've seen some amazing shots by other people.
But at this time I wished I could go to the sun and the blue skies... The rain bugs me.
Yosemite National Park, Muir Woods, Alaska, Italy and Ireland.
I also would love to go back to the The Canadian Rockies and Yellowstone!
But I'm going to Paris next month.. so I guess that's one already crossed off of my list :D

and Quebec City!
I know it says one place you would like to photograph, but technically Quebec would be re-photograph. =p
PAris too..
I would LOVE italy.
This summer my cousin and I are planning a trip to Japan! That would be my first trip to Asia, and I'm thrilled at the prospect!
it´s my dream
