I'm uncertain of the exact rules, and I can't find them on the site.
Ideally, I would take a shot each day and post it the same day.
Suppose I miss a day because of illness or whatever? Can I skip posting one day and post two the next? Can I post a picture I took a couple of days ago?
It's your project. You can skip a day, post 2 the next day, & post fillers! No 365 police will come to arrest you.
If you enter a theme shot, read the rules to make sure your shot was taken during the time frame posted. Other than that, enjoy & click away! :-)
Hi Jerry - it's your project, you make up the rules ;)
But generally speaking, the idea is to take and upload a photo a day. Having said that, the majority of us are humans with lives to lead, and sometimes we struggle with this...meaning that sometimes we miss a day, sometimes we make up for that the following day (or maybe not), or maybe we take a photo every day but only get access to a computer every other day or so...
Do it however you want, but after snapping a photo every day for 390+ days, the best way to improve is to do the photo a day thing as much as possible. Welcome!
By the way, I have been breaking the rules by posting "filler" shots almost all month. January is crazy busy for me so camera time is at a minimum. It is just how it is for me. =)
Your project.....your rules! It is impossible for me to post pics everyday. I usually do it a few times a week:) Sometimes I get busy and can't take a photo everyday.....sometimes I take 5 in one day! Whatever works for you!
@jerryc41 it's a good question and it can be quite daunting....but as others have said - this is your project and you should do what what you want but don't get hung up if you can't the photo onto the site each day.....after a while you will probably get obsessed with it, that it will just happen naturally.
The way I see it - I post a pic a day to make my followers happy. Whether I took that photo that day, or one or two days in either direction hasn't bothered me since about 50% through my first year. What I would say is don't commit to a doctrine at the beginning of your project, it gets tough about 30%-70% of the way through, the beginning and end are easy. Good luck Jerry!!
the only rule is that it must be YOUR photo, because if not someone will start a discussion, but not name you or show your photo. Rules are for the unbendable. Towards the end of my first year I got swamped at work because that is what happens so I showed old travel photos and had people guess the location. Do what makes you happy and do not worry about what I think.
Seriously, screw the rules. Be here. Have fun. Post what you can. When you can. Your the boss. No one else can tell you how to do it. When to do it. Do it when you can. How you want. When you want. as often as you can. If you miss a few days, no big deal. unless it's a big deal to you. Just do what you can. Enjoy it. That's all there is to it. No rules.
@jerryc41 I got so far behind that I have to upload a few a day now to catch up, some were taken that day (just uploaded 3 months later) others were taken days weeks or months earlier but I wanted to post them since I took a LOT of photos over one weekend in July (hence my falling behind on the project)
rules? there are no rules, are there? wait a minute... don't answer that.... lalalala i'm not listening! if i am ignorant of the rules than they don't apply to me... right???? ;D
@northy I'm pretty sure that's a valid legal defense, isn't it? If you didn't KNOW that drinking and driving was illegal, than you can't possibly be held responsible for it......right?
The rules are what you make them...it's your project!
Welcome...have fun!

Enjoy it ! It's a fab thing to do
I guess it was another site I considered that had pretty specif rules about posting.
