Three other threads in the last 24 hours about this yawn! Sorry to sound a bit off but there has been so much said alreay on this subject :)

@pete21 Not everyone sees ALL the discussions. I personally have only seen this one thread. I see very little of the discussions because I do not have time to patrol the discussion boards. The discussions I see are the most recent ones at the right of my screen and the voting/challenges I go looking for. Other than that if it's not right there available I miss it. Please give some people a break on this, yes it can be irritating that sometimes you see things more than once, but not all of us have the time to go searching for something or even realize someone else may have said something. People have a right to talk about what they want without thinking, oh wait maybe someone else said it so I should do a search to make sure I'm not talking about what someone else already mentioned. This is a fairly new development as I just saw my email on it this morning. But, after my email, my next stop online is to update/work on anything I need to do for my daytime job. Then, I check on my family and friends. Then, I work on uploading or sorting through my most recent photos. Then, if it's time I upload my photo for here and work on my photo blog. The discussions here are way down on my priority list so yes, some of us are going to repeat things already said, not because we're stupid or lazy about reading but because we just don't have the time others have to dedicate to the discussion boards. So, in honor of those of us who cannot be on the discussions as much as others. please have some patience with us

BTW my daytime job is teaching. And, I spend most of my evenings at the Y because my daughter has swim practice 4 to 5 days a week, so most days I don't even get to log onto 365 until late evening at which time I am lucky if I have more then 15 minutes to spend here. Making sure I post comments to others photos during that time is more important to me than seeing what is on the discussion boards.

By the way when a new topic is started there's a big box with this message posted:

STOP! Are you starting a discussion about something that has already been covered? Search the discussion board first. Lets keep the boards fresh.

I think sometimes when people say about repeat threads it's just a bit of frustration, also if you do a quick search for picnik at the moment in the discussions search the other threads come up near the top of the results. I know we are all guilty at times of just starting a thread and that for lots of us time is short but if you just take a quick second (which is all it pretty much took me) then these frustrations can be lightened a bit.

Regardless, all the nastiness and rude comments are very discouraging to new people. Ive decided I am just not going to read the discussions at all. If it bothers you just dont read the repetitive threads, skip over them. Not everyone knows every rule, nor do they have the time to look at all the threads. Its really sad, I have only been here about 20 days and there seems to be alot of drama. The worst part is when people follow you and make discouraging comments, not critiques either. . I think some people just come here to take their frustrations out on others. Some of us really are trying to learn something. They should add an option to contact people individually, this way all the hate wouldnt be out there to discourage others. This way all the perfect people could attack people privately, so the rest of us not so perfect photographers, could actually learn something and thrive here. Just my opinion.

@sheg I notice in your bio it says feel free to critique, but it also says that some of your photos are just to get something posted and some days you're really trying to develop. That being said, people probably won't critique any of it if they don't know you are wanting critique on a specific photo...you can add critique or critique-me to your tags to let people know that you're looking for input.

Also, just about this site and the people here in general...most everyone is nice and says good job or nice photo. It's wonderfully inviting and makes you feel good, but then no one wants to come in at the end of all that sugar and say, "if you tightened this up and rotated the horizon a bit it would really improve the composition...." it makes them look like the bad guy. I won't critique a photo that has sugar and rainbow comments like that unless it specifically asks for a critique. Does that make sense??

Wow, I don't think any of the attacks in this thread were necessary guys. Seriously, all that was needed was to link the thread that this was already in and just say this topic has already been posted. People make mistakes, sheesh.
