Why do i have some dates missing on my photos that i used Canons DPP to process them? they show up on the calender in the correct place but no date were the views and exif is shown, not that it matters I was just wondering if it is because i used HDR?

@esox Whatever you're using to process your HDR images is stripping out the EXIF data from them.

If you click 'Exif: View info' on the right of one of your HDR photos, the information on the camera, focal length, etc. has also been lost. (Compare it with one of your non-HDR photos). The only information remaining is what is required as part of the file specification (e.g. file dimensions).

There may be an option in your HDR software to preserve EXIF data, and a search on Google with the name of the HDR software and 'EXIF missing' or similar may also yield results.

I'm guessing as you use multiple shots to create HDR the software doesn't know what files time stamp to use???

Some processing software overwrite the EXIF tags in a photo, and some of these do it really badly. I had to shut this function off in GraphicConverter. Now, of course, the thumbnail is stuck, showing the original picture, even if I edit it.

If you use software to make collages or HDR after the fact, these programs, when writing new files, won't carry the EXIF tags into the new file.

You could use a 3rd party EXIF editor.
