Today marks the anniversary of the first journey on an underground transport system. 150 years ago today, the world’s first underground train (pulled by a steam engine) left Paddington station to make the first journey under the streets of London to Farringdon - all of 3.5 miles. Londoners - love it or hate it (and I love it more often than I hate it) - we couldn't survive as a working (or partying) city without it.
I'll be taking a pic or three of the tube today - why don't you join me and post your anniversary pics here: candid passenger shots, interesting architecture shots, vanishing point tunnel shots, blurring train shots ... And if you commute underground elsewhere - feel free to join in with your pics today of the subway, the metro etc.
great idea - grr to being in a rush to get home though...maybe I'll go out at lunch time or do an @andycoleborn and leave work at about 2pm to go shooting!! love the Google doodle today too!
Loved the google doodle too
The totally unbreakable stand on the right rule - break at your peril.
What did people do before the Metro?
