The best pressie .... but what to get ....

January 31st, 2013
Today I came home to the best pressie! a Canon EOS 6D(WG) with a canon - 24-104mm lens ......

After pulling myself off the ceiling ........ I started thinking about what I should consider as my next one or two purchases?

I really like macro photography and although I have discovered that I can use my tamron 70-300mm lens ... I think that it may be worth considering a better quality lens.

I also like landscape photography and intend to do more of it once I am mobile again (had a seizure last year so have had to take a 6 month break from driving)

I have a request to do a couple of portraits and some shots of some dogs.

What do you think?

Of the two, I would definitely go with macro; specifically the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM. Macro is a whole other world and the potential is limitless! Congrats on the pressie :)

A 50mm f1.8 is quite cheap to buy, great for portraits and shallow depth of fields for flowers and bugs. You can buy filters from 7dayshop.com very cheap to improve the macro fn of your zoom.
