Have you started your yearly photo book yet??

February 2nd, 2013
I posted this picture a couple of weeks ago of my annual photo book. Many people commented that they liked how I worked on the book throughout the year. I thought I'd put this up to remind everyone to go through their January shots now.

Oh I missed that.... so do you use all your shots from each month or just your faves? I didn't do a book for last year... actually not sure that I'd want to use shots from too early on in my project lol.

@ozziehoffy I just use my fav's from each month. I organize our family events chronologically and write short captions so I'll remember the details in the future. I use it almost like a journal. I might have a whole page (or more) for an event or day but then at the end of each month I have the "Miscellaneous January 2013 shots". That seems to be where I include a selection of my 365 shots.

@kwind Oooh ok, so not just 365 shots! Hmmmm... I need more kiddy shots... will have to rectify :) Thanks.

Fantastic job. I bet your family really loves it.

Really feeling proud to have finished 365 days of photos I did make a book, actually it took two, will always treasure them since it is also a diary of my year.

Thank. You. No, I have not started my 2013 book. But does that surprise you?!

Must get started this weekend. It will take all of 30 minutes to get January done.

@kwind what site/company did you use for your book? do you know of ones that we should steer clear of?
February 2nd, 2013
yep, my blurb book is underway for last year, and i have started this years

That is a great idea. I have been going through some photos to delete and reorganize and remove from my computer. While I have printed some books, I have not done this. Great idea.

@lesip Great picture of you and your books.

@dvarey I use a company called My Publisher. http://www.mypublisher.com/.
It's a company out of New York. They do ship internionally. I've made at least ten books. Several yearly ones but others were made to remember specific holidays. I've been really impressed by the quality and service.

I made one for my sister for Christmas. It included a full story line of our trip to New Orleans, which had a deep sentimental layer. It made her cry.

I have several photo books. I got started with a free book from Shutterfly. Their options are easy to use, and you can customize all over the place. Just before the holiday, I used snapfish. They do not allow a photo on the back cover. There are a lot of issues, their paper stock, quality, etc. I won't go back.

Thanks for the idea....I have started a book for this year and will add pictures as I go. I don't think I will do a full 365, but rather, my favorite pictures each month.

@welcometocarolworld Sounds like a lovely book. I made my parents one which focused on their six grandchildren. They were thrilled.

The book idea is great. I haven't started one, but I do want to try. Thanks for the reminder.

Amy
I am doing this this year! So excited!

What a wonderful idea.... suggestions on printers? Suggestions on printers to avoid? I note one called mypublisher in a comment above.

I have started mine-- just because I'm excited to see my own progress. Every Sunday I organize my photos in the book

I love your book Kim and would love to do something similar but I can't decide what year to start.
February 3rd, 2013
@kjarn I'd suggest starting with this year, Kathy. It's really easy and it's so exciting when it arrives.

@calm I made one through Kodak once but I sent it back. I did another through a local grocery store and the quality just wasn't there. My Publisher's paper is wonderful.

@kwind Thank you! I will check it out! I had done a book with Shutterfly and it was just ok.

@kwind Thank you for this reminder! I really am going to get started on this. It will be wonderful at the end of the year to send to just sent to print. I think it will also remind me to take all the family photos I should as the months go by.
