Snowmaggedon 2013

February 21st, 2013
The Midwestern US is in the midst of the biggest storm of the year. I thought it may be fun to share our "snowmaggedon" photos with others here and use the word as a tag on big snow storms in general.

Here's my shot of the day: (if you don't know how to embed the photo, simply go to the photo's page and the last line in the right column is for the RSS feed. Just above that is a box with coding that says copy and paste. Paste it in you comment here and when you post, BAM there is your photo)

Nothing but a dusting here so far. (Although we did have 10+ inches around Christmas). In 2011, the midwest also had a big storm. Here is the 2011 storm from my neck of the woods.

@mej2011 There was nothing this morning here... once the dusting started it went big time! Good luck.

@jplovescotton
You too! It's supposed to be high 40's where I am tomorrow, so I think we'll be okay. As long as my house doesn't blow away from all the wind. Sheesh!
February 22nd, 2013
@mej2011 The wind was bad but the worst part here was the sleet that fell first. The wind seems to be dying down now too so I think all that's left is to figure out getting around tomorrow. :)

No where near what they said we were gonna get but this one from today feels like holiday time to me.

Snow came down quickly this morning in Kansas City:

Some were left helpless as the snow piled up!

@rockinrobyn I'm so jealous!!!! We still have not gotten any of the snow you guys have had! We have a few inches of sleet today, which meant a snow day from school for today and we just learned tomorrow too. (Can you hear my children cheering at your house??) ;))
February 22nd, 2013
@tryeveryday I can't hear them because my kids are cheering loudly, too, lol
February 22nd, 2013
@rockinrobyn haha! :) Enjoy your day together!
February 22nd, 2013
Hoping that we at least get a delay in the morning. We still have yet to experience a snow day! Tonight we are having ice storms.
February 22nd, 2013
@superbeyotch Love that photo!
@httpgeffed Great photo! Will take a while to dig out that shed and I'm guessing not everyone's mailbox is easily reached!
@rockinrobyn I'm just on the other side of the state.... I'm in St. Louis. Love the sense of wonder you captured! And that poor gnome!
February 22nd, 2013
@amandalomonaco Ours was sleet for a while and then it became snow, sometimes big flakes, sometimes really small but it just kept coming down!
February 22nd, 2013
@jplovescotton Thanks so much!

Wow! We didn't get that much! Only about 6 inches here. Houdini, our 2 year old bichon-poodle mix, enjoyed playing in the snow, but the 2 older dogs only peeked out!
February 22nd, 2013
@httpgeffed Great white on white shot.

@mcdougall Thats a lot of snow!!! How tall was that?
February 22nd, 2013
Penguin style sledding in our neck of the woods! Kids are loving the snow way more than I am :)

February 22nd, 2013
@mcdougall WOW! That looks awesome! I hope that was using a snowblower cause my shoveling is nowhere near that nice looking! Hope deep was it?

@pengu1n What a pretty dog! He looks like he's having fun!

@karenpics What a beautifully isolating photo.... it seems so tranquil. LOVE the backroads!

@sassyinma That is such a fun photo! Makes me smile! Great vantage point there!

@tbats22 I'm in St. Louis.... it was a really heavy snow! I especially like the one with the face & snow coming straight at the camera! Great action shot!

@edie Love how vast this looks!
February 23rd, 2013
@centermd @jplovescotton we ended up getting over 2 feet! It was crazy. Unfortunately we don't have a snowblower so my poor husband was out there shoveling for over 4 hours!!!
