I love my lensbaby. I want to see your lensbaby shots. Hey if you dont have one you can make one. Here is a link http://www.diyphotography.net/build-a-lynny-a-diy-lensbaby.
This is not a contest. I want it to be on going.
So please tag your photos with: lensbaby-13
Also put your photos on this page as well.
I cant wait to see your work.
Here is a few of mine.
This is lensbaby and 35mm film
sweet 35 with 35mm film
Here's one courtesy of the Iris Blur in the Filter Gallery of Photoshop. Elliptical "sweet spot" is useful at times. Can even run completely off the frame in the editor that I am not sure Lensbaby can do? Not here though.
I have the same question as @frida, interested to hear your response and those of others. I took a photo last week where I tried to make a lensbaby effect. Not quite what you are after but I shall post anyway and save up for the real thing
I want to start taking photos with my lensbaby - so really pleased you've started this link......will get me started - here's an old one from Venice @aprilmilani
@harley84@frida@rachelwithey@jocasta@babysophia@still_beachradish Right now I only have the sweet 35. I broke it on my last backpacking trip and am still using it. (one of the rings is to loose now.) I cant let it go to have them repair it. This has become my go to lens. I love the fact that I have to think before I shoot. Yes its a bit more work. Thats what makes it art not just a click. I have found that the lensbaby and film really are rockin together.
Thank you for posting you awesome photos. Id love to see more=D!
@benjamaphone No I havent made this yet. I have everything to do it. Its just sitting down and doing it. It looks so easy. Let me know if you do it and what you think.
@jackie8 I have the sweet 35. Here is the website: http://lensbaby.com/
They make a few of them. I like the sweet 35 because its all in one you dont have to change out the aperture like the rest.
@aprilmilani You indeed have a magic with your sweet 35 LB+film! You develop a nostalgia that is stunning. What I think ... I love the creative spin, though I find it needs the right subject - I have both the sweet 35 and double glass optic. For whatever reason, the double glass optic and I have a much better relationship. I do a lot of blur at baseline, and this puts blur on blur, so getting it right can be touchy. It takes time, but when you get it right, you know it will be a special shot!
i have the composer and the sweet 35...the ones i posted were taken with the composer...i know i've used the sweet 35 recently...i got it for christmas last year.....
@still_beachradish I really want the double glass optic. I love the sweet 35. Im just ready for something new.
Do you really a big difference between the two. I guess is it worth it?
@aprilmilani I can't say I've given the sweet 35 enough of a fair shake, but I do prefer the double glass. It gives more of a streaky and directional blur (vs. the sweet 35) - depends on what you're going for, I think. Is there any way to test drive one for a while before spending the $?
I've taken a few recently; I've got the composer and when I get it right I love it, but I do find it a bit frustrating sometimes. And it's definitely not a lens for getting a quick shot!
I am part of a Lensbaby group on FB called "Lensbaby Artistry." They have a monthly contest in which the people at Lensbaby judge and award monthly prizes. Would love to see you all there! https://www.facebook.com/groups/lensbabyartistry/
@rhondatn I have a breakout session through Clickin Moms and Click Magazine in July. A breakout session is a downloadable, self study course. I am one of three presenters for this course. I will be covering emotive portraiture and macro, another lady is doing zone plate/pin hole, fine art, and the other woman is covering using Lensbaby for portrait sessions and using Lensbabies for client work. The course consists of three large PDFs (mine alone is almost 100 pages) and three videos as well as three half-hour question and answer audios.
