In response to @michaelelliott 's NYC meetup and challenge to the Midwest, I am organizing a photo walk in Chicago for the same day. There will be zombies and fireworks! The zombie march is from 3:00 pm to 5:00pm. It is an annual event and provides great photo ops. The fireworks start at 8:00 pm and are at Navy Pier every Saturday. In between we can wander the lakefront and the downtown Chicago. I will scope out some good spots.
Sorry, the date is not negotiable. Please respond only if you can be in Chicago on June 22. Come on Chicago 365'ers, we can't let NYC show us up!
Shoot, I feel like such a traitor to the Midwest. I already committed to go to NYC...got tickets. Love your mention of zombies and fireworks. Hope that I can make the next one as Chicago is not too bad a drive from me.
I can't be sure about June 22 until around the 12th. I'm probably 65% yes, I'd sure like to ride with someone coming from Indy area or meet someone to ride the Southshore.
@welcometocarolworld that's great Carol! The march starts at Millennium Park, goes North on Michigan then cuts across to Dearborn and heads south to Daley Plaza where they climb over the Picasso. Then on to Buckingham Fountain. It starts at 3 pm, but there are good photo ops around the Bean for about an hour before that.

@dlaxton hi Dave yes still happening. Where does the south shore train arrive? We could meet there. Zombies by the beam from 2 to 3, then walking. It is worth catching them at Daley plaza too, around 4. Fireworks are ar 10:15, which is late, so I'm not sure who will stick around for them. We can get something to eat around 6, then head over to lake for golden hour. Do you have any suggestions?
Hope you all can make it. The South Shore ends at Randolph St. Easy from there to the bean. We can taxi or walk from there. Best parking is at the Indiana Dunes South Shore station on Hwy 12 just off Hwy 49. Tickets kiosk on site. I am available all day Saturday. @welcometocarolworld - which train will you be taking? I have no problem being there for the 9:01 or whatever works. I have nothing forcing me to be back early.
My thought was to take the 9:49 am WB. I will probably plan to take the 9:15pm EB train back to Indiana if we eat around 6ish. @dlaxton@danielwsc@jsw0109

if you are interested, I have visitor parking permits for the residential street parking around my condo. Then you don't have to worry about the last train and could stay for the fireworks.
I am two blocks from Union Station, so if you guys got here around 11:00 am we could spend some time there before heading over to Millennium Park. We could either take the bus or walk the 1.5 miles. There is some interesting stuff on the way; The Sears Tower, The Harold Washington Library, The Art Institute. We could get lunch en route.

@welcometocarolworld@danielwsc - I definitely would like to do both downtown/lakeshore and some abandoned/whatever buildings (that church in Gary). After I go to Utah the end of July, I should be pretty available. So, mid-August on. ....
@danielwsc@dlaxton@welcometocarolworld it wasn't going to work for me either, which is unfortunate... I like Dave's idea too (including that church in Gary). I'll check my summer calendar and see what I can come up with for dates that could work, but I might have to wait until I know if I'm going to get that job or not, which could affect my availability. I probably won't know anything re: 2nd interview until the latter part of next week...if I get a 2nd interview, I'm not sure how long it will take to know if the position will be offered to me or not.
